I am writing to endorse Elizabeth Akehurst-Moore for Concord’s Select Board. I came to know Elizabeth shortly after the state announced the closing of the prison in Concord. As a member of the Advisory Board, and chair of the Legal and Government Affairs Subcommittee, Elizabeth has shown leadership and vision, pushing Concord to be aspirational and proactive. It would be much easier for Concord to sit back and let the state take the lead on the prison redevelopment, but Akehurst-Moore has the creativity and tenacity to fight for the aspirations of residents and businesses and to ensure Concord a seat at the table as the prison site is redeveloped over the coming years.

Elizabeth is also an excellent listener who takes input to heart and allows different opinions and new information to shape her perspective. I have found her to be well rounded in her understanding of Concord’s issues and her framing of the town’s priorities. As the owner of a thriving business in Concord, she knows what small businesses need to succeed and will fight to secure essential infrastructure. As a longtime resident raising a family in town, Elizabeth deeply values Concord’s culture, history, and quality of life. As an active Concord citizen, Akehurst-Moore understands the importance of transparency in government and the need for data-driven decision-making. Elizabeth Akehurst-Moore will be a great addition to Concord’s Select Board.
