I am proud to endorse Alexa Anderson for re-election to the School Committee, and Elizabeth Akhurst – Moore for the Select Board. As part of a four-generation Concord family, I am grateful for their willingness to volunteer, protect the integrity of our town, and trust in their abilities to effectuate long-term change, and cohesion amongst our leadership.

Alexa and I grew up together, and I have witnessed the passion with which she tackles her tasks, and her ability to command attention; Her influence canvasses a diverse range of residents, she listens to all perspectives to ensure a balanced approach and demonstrates a relentless work ethic.

I admire Alexa’s passion and transparency, and continue to be amazed at the endless well of energy she has to tackle challenges, while remaining grounded to maintain the spirit of Concord. She has demonstrated courage in standing up for what is right, often facing opposition. Alexa can boil down and effectively communicate the complex issues that our school community faces.

Elizabeth and I met via the MCI Advisory Board. She is a balanced force, who brings financial expertise, a detail-oriented mindset, and an appreciation for the range of citizens and organizations that will be impacted. I am impressed with her willingness to defend her opinion, with the goal of driving efficient and sensible resolution. Elizabeth’s ties with the redevelopment of MCI offer an invaluable perspective to the SB as zoning is considered, which will have a major impact on our schools.

Alexa and Elizabeth are looking out for the long-term interest of our town, as Concord is at a critical juncture, where opportunities need to be seized to shape our future. They have committed to work collaboratively, to present the SC and SB as a united front, and to ensure continuity for our long-range plans.
